The process of this type of counselling is designed to intensify the experience of the now (present), done by confrontation, helping the client stay with the present experience, or polarity discussions view, were the counsellor intentionally takes the opposite view.

The counsellor-client relationship is seen as the most important part of the therapy, looking at the now. The counsellor should be “who they are” and by doing this they can then allow the client to stop playing the roles they are playing i.e., victim.

This type of therapy is can be beneficial when dealing with individuals, who are experiencing Negative repeated Behaviour patterns, difficulties with personal growth, or relating in groups i.e., work, families etc.,

But may not be the first choice of therapy when dealing when dealing with problems such as Depression, phobias, and addiction/crisis
