Transactional Analysis

The process of this type of counselling is to teach the client language of Transactional Analysis,

Its aim is the diagnosing of the three ego states of Parent , Adult and Child,  by the use of the 4 methods, behavioural, historical, social, phenomenological

The counsellor-client relationship is seen as one of change beginng with therapist as a teacher of the language of Transactional Analysis. When taught satisfactorily, two people or the group know the language and can identify it in themselves or others and by this identifying assist the client develop new strategies for living

The relationship moves from TEACHER PUPIL to CO-WORKER and to increase autonomy which shows and increase in the ability to experience intimacy.

This type of therapy is can be beneficial when dealing with analysis individuals who are experiencing Negative repeated behaviour patterns, difficulties with personal growth, or relating in groups i.e., work, families etc., But may not be the first choice of therapy when dealing with problems such as  -Crisis, depression, eating disorder, or work with victims of sexual abuse.
